Preview of Jgrivetti's blog at TravelPod. Read the full blog here: www.travelpod.com This blog preview was made by TravelPod using the TripAdvisor™ TripWow slideshow creator. Entry from: Ephesus, Turkey Entry Title: "Ephesus" Entry: "Today we got up early to catch the ferry from Chios to Turkey. I was surprised by the smooth waters for our journey as the last time I was on a ferry in Mexico from Playa del Carmen to Cozumel we were rocking and rolling it was very very unpleasant! When we arrived in Turkey we met our guide and driver and then we took off for the 2 hour drive to Ephesus. I was very surprised to learn that the west coast area in which we were traveling looked so very similar to what I would see in California. It was discovered that the climate here is very similar to CA and this is why this specific area was well enjoyed by not only tourists but Turkish nationals as vacation areas. I just referred it as the the Hampton's of Turkey! While on our journey we came across some police check points who were interested in who was driving in the area...well we found out why really fast! Apparently the Turkish army was out doing "war games" with several rocket and missile launchers perched upon the grassy fields it was quite impressive. Although we couldn't confirm it I think they got a lil boom boom action because it would be pointless to bring all these folks out here (including high level political officials) and not give them a show of force... After about 2 nice ...

"Anzac Day - Gallipoli" Sonyagoltz's photos about Eceabat, Turkey (tjs adaptation gallipoli)

Preview of Sonyagoltz's blog at TravelPod. Read the full blog here: www.travelpod.com This blog preview was made by TravelPod using the TripAdvisor™ TripWow slideshow creator. Entry from: Eceabat, Turkey Entry Title: "Anzac Day - Gallipoli" Entry: "We bussed it from Istanbul on the bus line Ulusoy. What a great bus line. They have wifi internet on board which is obtained by typing in your reference number and name. They have a flight/Busboy attendant who served snacks and drinks and was helpful in general. The also have screens and you can watch movies (in turkish) or play games and they also serve refreshments. We signed up for a Ulusoy card which gives you discount of 20% every time you travel. Since we will be using public transport this will be a saving. Apparently this busline also travels through Europe - is connected with Lufthansa. We arrived in Eceabat and found our accomodation which we had booked over phone. Where we booked (at TJ's) and where we ended staying - The Boss were two different places with differing standards of accommodation and service. We were told that because of business with ANZAC Day etc. that TJ's had sublet the other hotel rooms. The reality was TJ had booked all the Media personnel into his motel but still wanted more patrons. We were shown to a tiny room with 6 bunks on the 5th floor - walk up, no air cond. no sheets, not like the pictures we had seen on the internet and thought we were getting - Daniel and Paul couldn't stand up the roof ...
